Building Permits

A building permit requires a sketch of the project. This is best done on an aerial photo from the Clayton County Assessor’s website.

Once you locate your lot, the blue line outlining the lot is the lot line. This is where the setback requirements are measured from. Some property owners incorrectly believe their property line extends to the middle of the street or, at the very least, to the street.
