The Elkader Depot Museum promotes, educates, and preserves the history of the Milwaukee Railroad that traveled through Elkader using the plans of the original depot building constructed in 1875. Museum attractions include a replica of the Depot Office, displays of Milwaukee Railroad artifacts, railroad signs, historic photos, and a video presentation of steam locomotives. There is an indoor running HO Model Railroad train and a ceiling mounted O Scale Milwaukee Railroad train. A handmade precision model of a Canandian Pacific Raiload locomotive and replica cars from various railroads are located on the museum grounds.
