Established in 1949 to preserve ceremonial mounds constructed by Native American mound builders inhabiting the upper Mississippi River valley between 450 B.C. and 1300 A.D. Explore the mounds and experience the beauty of this 1,481 acre park on the bluffs overlooking the Mississippi River. Hike its extensive trail system and enjoy the visitor center where you will find a museum, bookstore and restroom facilities. Interpretive tours, films, nature lectures and activities are offered year round.
