NEW ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR/MAIN STREET ELKADER DIRECTOR SELECTED
The City of Elkader and the Main Street Elkader Board of Directors is pleased to announce the selection of a new Economic Development Director/Main Street Elkader Director.
Amy Holst is a familiar name to many in the Elkader area. An Elkader resident for over 23 years, Holst is passionate about Elkader, its growth, and showcasing our vibrant rural community.
Holst has a master’s degree from Buena Vista University, a bachelor’s degree from Upper Iowa University, and brings years of administrative experience from her role at Keystone Area Education Agency (AEA). In addition, she is a small business owner, a real estate agent and is on the Board for Elkader Fitness Center.
“In Amy we saw a passion for serving her community.” said Mayor Josh Pope. “She is high-energy and a real “go getter.” Pope continued “We also saw Amy as someone who will bring some consistency to this position, has many applicable administrative skills and has the ability to build relationship with a diverse population.”
Holst will officially begin her new duties July 1, 2024. Holst says this position is an incredible opportunity to serve her community. “I understand the value of community engagement and am committed to seeing Elkader thrive. I am eager to leverage and support our current businesses and encourage new opportunities for new business to develop, grow and expand in our amazing community.”
