Full City Code Information

There is a curfew ordinance: “46.05 (3) Unless accompanied by a responsible adult, no minor under the age of 18 shall be in any public place during the following times: A. 11:00 p.m. - 5:00 a.m. Sunday night through Friday morning. B. 12:00 a.m. (midnight) - 5:00 a.m. Friday night through Sunday morning.”

Dogs and cats: 55.06 It is unlawful to allow animals to run at large.

Parking during the winter: 69.12 If a snow emergency has not been declared, no parking November 1 to April 1 from 2:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. when there is an accumulation of snow.

Other parking: 69.13 Street Cleaning - no parking zones. No parking 2 a.m. to 7 a.m. Monday and/or Friday (see signage) for sweeping streets.

Do not leave a trailer parked on a street unless it is connected to a vehicle.

Cars parked on the street must be moved at least every 48 hours to avoid being ticketed; in a municipal parking lot it is seven days

Bike riding: 76.09 No bicycle riding upon a sidewalk in the business district. Pedestrians have the right-of-way on sidewalks. (dismount and walk your bike through the downtown)

City will vacuum leaves. Otherwise, sticks, yard waste and leaves during times that we do not vacuum leaves can be taken to the City “burn pile.” Check out a key at City Hall.

135.05 Avoid placing grass clippings or leaves on the streets

135.12 It is unlawful to place snow onto a public street or alley.

136.03 Remove snow, ice & debris from sidewalks promptly.

151.03 It is the property owner's responsibility to trim trees.

155.05 Building permits are required for most exterior projects. Signs permits are also required as are permits for dumpsters.

Installing Mailboxes in the City Limits: Mailboxes may be placed in front of residences.  Residents are encouraged to contact the U.S. Post Office or City Hall for regulations that govern the type, size, style and location of mailboxes in the city limits.
