Bicycle Care, Collection, & Cookies Ride
Safe Routes to School Coordinator, April Bril, with Upper Explorerland Regional Planning Commission, in partnership with Clayton County Conservation, are offering a bicycle safety and bicycle maintenance event on May 15, 2025. The event begins at 5:30pm at Elkader City Park, Shelter House #1.
Participants are encouraged to bring their bicycles for instruction on bicycle maintenance and a short bike ride on Pony Hollow Trail. This event is open to all ages, and cookies will be provided. Bicycle helmets will be given out to those in need.
Old bicycles to be donated for recycling, upcycling, or repurposing are welcome. Bicycles to be recycled can be dropped off at Osborne at any time leading up to the event. Please drop off in the bike rack near the parking lot and tan building.
Clayton County Conservation will have updated trail alignment maps of the Pony Hollow Trail Expansion along with an updated timeline on the 2026 construction. Several partners will be helping with the event and sharing information on upcoming recreational events in our region.
