DESCRIPTION:  \nClayton County Conservation is pleased to host a Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day on Saturday\, June 7th from 8am – 11am at Osborne. Any Clayton County resident wishing to dispose of hazardous waste must call Floyd\, Mitchell\, Chickasaw Waste Management 1-641-982-4288 to set up an appointment. \n  \nWhen you call for an appointment\, they will determine if you are eligible to use their services\, if the materials you plan to bring are acceptable\, and get an idea of the quantities for staffing and equipment reasons. This is a free program offered by a grant through the Winneshiek County Solid Waste Agency. Latex paint will not be accepted.

DESCRIPTION:Join Older\, Wiser\, Livelier\, Souls for the 2025 grand tour of the Silos and Smokestacks National Heritage Area. June’s destination will be a visit to the Laura Ingles Wilder Museum & The Locust School in Burr Oak\, Iowa. Please meet at Osborne Park at 9:30 to carpool to our destination. \nThis O.W.L.S. adventure will take you back in time to the pioneer era with these 2 amazing Historic Sites. Each site is part of the Silos and Smokestacks National Heritage Area. Join us the 3rd Thursday of each month\, March through November\, for O.W.L.S.\, Older Wiser Livelier Souls. Each month will feature a new Silos and Smokestacks Site\, so join us as we explore more of the Silos and Smokestacks National Heritage Area. \nReservations are required. Reserve your spot today by calling (563) 245-1516 or visit the Osborne Nature Center.  Osborne Nature Center is located on HWY 13 five miles south of Elkader.
