DESCRIPTION:Hazardous Waste Poster \nHousehold Hazardous Waste Collection Day\nSaturday\, April 13th (9:00 AM – Noon) \nOsborne Nature Center \nAppointments Required \nClayton County Conservation is pleased to host a Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day on Saturday\, April 13th from 9am – noon at Osborne.  Any Clayton County resident wishing to dispose of hazardous waste must call Floyd\, Mitchell\, Chickasaw Waste Management 1-877-982-4288 to set up an appointment. \nWhen you call for an appointment\, they will determine if you are eligible to use their services\, if the materials you plan to bring are acceptable\, and get an idea of the quantities for staffing and equipment reasons.  This is a free program offered by a grant through the Winneshiek County Solid Waste Agency. Latex paint will not be accepted.

This year’s theme is “NEIA Farm and Ag Tour”\, and April’s program will be a tour of the Country View Dairy at Hawkeye\, Iowa. Please meet at Osborne Park at 10:15 to carpool to our destination. \nJoin us to learn how Dave & Carolee Rapson expanded their family dairy farm in 2011 by adding a creamery just 50 yards from the herd. They built a state-certified creamery and began producing their signature Farmstead Yogurt.  Their all-natural yogurt is now sold throughout the Midwest. \nReservations are required. DESCRIPTION:PONY HOLLOW TRAIL BRANDING CONTEST \nCALLING ALL TRAIL ENTHUSIASTS \nThe Clayton County Conservation Board is hosting a logo design contest for the Pony Hollow Trail. Participants must submit entries before Friday\, May 31 at 5:00pm to be included in the fundraising competition. Contest information and a link to the submission form can be found on the NEWS section of www.claytoncountyconservation.org \nThe public will help vote for their favorite design at a National Trails Day event on Saturday\, June 1\, 2024 along Pony Hollow Trail.  The lucky winner with receive a 2-night stay at the Inn at Motor Mill. \nParticipants are encouraged to consider the rich history of Pony Hollow’s railbed\, the name of the trail\, and the multi-use purpose of the trail in their design. Participants agree that Clayton County Conservation has the right to reproduce the design for marketing\, branding\, promotional\, and sales items.
