SUMMARY:Clayton County Conservation Summer Camps
DESCRIPTION:DayCampBrochure2023               Junior Naturalist Camp Flyer 2023 (1)      \n  \nClayton County Conservation Summer Camps \nClayton County Conservation presents the 2023 summer camp schedule. \nJunior Naturalist Program (JNP) camps are offered only to 6th-10th grade students. The JNP is an overnight camp program that focuses on exploring nature and the environment.  Activities are led by naturalists at the Osborne Center\, local resource specialists and sportsmen. 2023 JNP camps will be held June 20-21\, June 27-28\, and July 11-13. \nSummer Youth Day Camps are full-day outdoor programs from 9am-2pm for children ages 6-12. Each camp will focus on a different theme\, but all campers will get a chance to search for wildlife\, make crafts\, go on hikes\, and hone their nature awareness skills while exploring the parks of Clayton County. 2023 Youth Day Camps will be held on June 1\, 8\, & 15th as well as July 6 and 27th. \nMotor Mill S.T.E.A.M. camps are a fun filled day exploring historic Motor Mill as we discover the connections between science\, technology\, engineering\, mathematics\, and art with nature. This day camp is open to ages 6-12 years old\, by the end of the day they all will be masters of STEAM! 2023 Motor Mill S.T.E.A.M. camps will be held July 21 and Aug 11.​ \nReservations are required and can be done by visiting the Environmental Education tab on our website www.claytoncountyconservation.org . If you would like to speak to a staff member for more information\, please call 563-245-1516. \nOsborne Nature Center is located on HWY 13 five miles south of Elkader. DESCRIPTION:Thursday\, July 20th\nEarly Reservations Required by July 12th\nThe next Older\, Wiser\, Livelier\, Souls program will be on Thursday\, July 20th. This year’s theme is “Iowa\, Then and Now”\, and July’s destination will be to visit the National Czech & Slovak Museum in Cedar Rapids. Participants should meet at Osborne Park to leave at 9:15 AM and carpool to the destination.\nO.W.L.S. will explore Iowa’s rich immigration history and learn how the Czech\, Slovak and Bohemian people left their mark. This rich culture is often overlooked when we think about Northeast Iowa’s early settlers\, but many residents here share this heritage. Learn how this culture helped to shape and influence Northeast Iowa and beyond.\nIt is important to register early for this trip\, pre-registration deadline is July 12th.
