DESCRIPTION:Kayaking the Volga \nOsborne Conservation Center \nFriday\, August 14\, 1:00 PM \n  \nJoin Seasonal Naturalist\, Olivia Holdsworth on a relaxing adventure down the Volga River. Participants should meet at the Osborne Conservation Office at 1:00 PM before setting off on a short hike to the river access for a quick safety talk before departing off down river. \n  \nOn this 1-1 ½ hour-long guided tour\, we will be talking about the different plant and animal life that live along the Volga River starting at the river access at Osborne Park and ending in Meterville. Participants are recommended to bring sunscreen\, bug repellent\, water shoes\, hat\, water bottle\, and snacks. In the event that the Volga is too shallow to kayak\, we will use tubes instead. Kayak/tubes will be provided and life jackets will be available for you\, but you are welcome to bring your own. \nClayton County Conservation Office is located at 29862 Osborne Road\, Elkader\, IA 52043. DESCRIPTION:Join Seasonal Naturalists\, Olivia and Tate for an evening of learning about identifying plants. Participants meet at the Osborne Conservation Office at 6:00 PM. We will be starting the class off in the classroom and ending with a hike and plant scavenger hunt on one of Osborne’s hiking trails.\nThis 90-minute class will include some basic plant morphology information and then end with utilizing the knowledge you’ve gained out of on the trail! Participants may want to bring a water bottle\, snacks\, comfortable walking shoes and a pen and paper for taking notes\, if desired.
