| City Park Stroll, picnic, play or camp in our lovely 3 acre shaded city park near the Turkey River. The city pool, playground equipment, ball fields, tennis, volleyball and horseshoe courts, six open shelters, picnic tables and grills are located in the park. The six open shelters and an enclosed shelter can be rented for your special event. Hike on the nearby Pony Hollow trail or take the Riverwalk to downtown Elkader. 100-125 campsites (60-70 campsites are available with water and electrical hook up) A new conveniently located bathhouse offers hot showers. Campers also have access to free firewood and a dump site. Camping fees are: rv/campers - $17 per day with electricity (20 amp and 30 amp hook-ups), tents - $10 per day, monthly rate: rv/campers - $210. No reservations on campsites. Shelters may be reserved by calling 563-245-2098. Park is open April1 to November 1, weather permitting. |

The old Elkader Sale Barn adjacent to the City Park has been rebuilt to house a portion of Mr. Maier's extensive collection. Additional display buildings are being planned for the future. | Riverwalk Elkader River Walk is a scenic and safe walkway along the Turkey River, connecting downtown Elkader to the City Park, George Maier Rural Heritage Center, swimming pool, campgrounds, and tennis courts. The six foot wide walkway is lighted and handicap accessible. |
